Skyline College Women’s Wrestling Competes at Sacramento Women’s Open
Sacramento, CA — February 14
The Skyline College Women's Wrestling Team proudly represented the Trojans at the Sacramento Women's Open this past Saturday, where 162 athletes and 18 teams from across the region competed in a highly competitive field.
The Trojans demonstrated grit, resilience, and continued growth as a program.
- Jax Saeed delivered a strong performance at 207 pounds, battling through tough competition and showing steady improvement throughout the tournament.
- Lynelle Legados competed at 124 pounds and demonstrated determination and heart in every match.
- Saphire Altamirano had an outstanding day, capturing the Consolation Championship after fighting back through the bracket with impressive composure and perseverance.
Head Coach Olga Camacho praised the team's effort and mindset. "This tournament challenged our athletes in every way. I am proud of the resilience our women showed. They are continuing to grow, trust the process, and compete with confidence against strong competition."
The Trojans now shift their focus to their next major competition — the State Duals in Fresno on March 7 — where they will continue building momentum as the season progresses.
